Congratulation Jac on his well deserved selection (again) for the final British and Irish Lions test match against Australia! As Ospreys supporters, we couldn’t be more happy for Jac and his family.
Since the Ospreys were formed in 2003, our region has been a beacon of rugby excellence, and no more so than when it comes to the British & Irish Lions. We’re proud to say that since our formation, Ospreys players have featured in every Lions tour since 2005, a testament to the talent, hard work, and spirit that runs through our club and our community.
As Ospreys supporters, it’s a source of immense pride to see our players pulling on that famous red jersey, representing not just Wales, but the best of British and Irish rugby on the biggest stage. Here’s a look back at the incredible history and memories we share from those tours, with some iconic moments featuring our own.
The Beginning: 2005 Lions Tour to New Zealand
Our Ospreys Lions story started early. Just two years after the region’s birth, Brent Cockbain, Ryan Jones, Gavin Henson, and the electric Shane Williams were proudly representing the club on tour in New Zealand. It was a tough series, but seeing our lads in the Lions jersey fired up the whole region.
Growing Strength: 2009 Tour to South Africa
By 2009, the Ospreys were firmly established as a powerhouse, and it showed with seven of our players selected for the Lions squad! Names like Alun Wyn Jones, Adam Jones, Tommy Bowe, and of course, Shane Williams made us proud every step of the way. The passion, grit, and skill our boys showed in South Africa was unforgettable.
Glory in 2013: The Australia Tour
Nothing beats the thrill of victory — and in 2013, with Ospreys stalwarts like Alun Wyn Jones leading the charge and Justin Tipuric bursting with energy, the Lions brought home the series win! Watching Alun Wyn captain the side and our players making their mark fills us with pride that can’t be put into words.
Fierce Battles in 2017: New Zealand
The Ospreys continued to shine in 2017 with stars like Dan Biggar, Justin Tipuric, and the ever-dependable and ever-present Alun Wyn Jones. The Lions might not have won that series, but the spirit and determination of our players kept us cheering all the way.
Never Say Die: 2021 Tour to South Africa
If ever there was a tour that showed true heart, it was 2021. Alun Wyn Jones, our captain and warrior, overcame injury to lead the Lions through one of the toughest series ever. Alongside him were fellow Ospreys Justin Tipuric and Adam Beard, carrying our flag high and proud. That resilience is pure Ospreys.
The Legacy Continues: : 2025 Tour to Australia
Jac Morgan has stepped up as a new Lion, bringing youthful energy, leadership, and that unstoppable Ospreys work ethic. We can’t wait to see him take the pitch again in the final test of the 2025 tour.

Some Of Our Legends
Alun Wyn Jones

Our captain, our leader, Wales’ most capped player, and a true Ospreys legend.
Shane Williams

World Player of the year in 2008 and a supporter favourite, dazzling on the wing with unforgettable tries and heart.
Justin Tipuric

The relentless flanker with speed and incomparable skill that lifted the whole team. It’s sad to see Tips hang up the infamous blue scrumcap but its great to see him carry on in a coaching role at the Ospreys
Dan Biggar

Calm and composed (at least later in his career!), he was competitive beyond compare for both Ospreys and Lions.
Jac Morgan

Ospreys captain, the pride of our club and carrying the torch forward for the next generation.
In Our Hearts, On the Field
Every time an Ospreys player steps onto the pitch wearing the Lions red, they carry not only the hopes of Wales and the British Isles but the pride of every supporter in our region. This ongoing legacy connects us all — players, supporters, and communities alike. As the Ospreys Supporters Club, we celebrate our heroes and look forward to many more Lions tours with our players at the forefront. Congratulations to Jac again on his selection for the final test against Australia and here’s to the next chapter in our proud history!
