Website goes multilingual

As much as the OSC would like to provide a bilingual website, time & technology limitations restrict what we can provide.

However, due to the wonders of technology, a translation tool has been added to the website, allowing the site to be translated on the fly into a selection of languages commonly spoken in the rugby world (above and beyond all those listed on the IRB website).

Just click on the “Translate >>” button at the bottom right of the website and click on your language of choice!

The translation might be a bit literal but it does improve accessibility to a wider audience!

OSC Social Night: Saturday 17th January

The OSC are excited to announce our first (official, organised) social night for 5 years!

The event is being held in the Railmens’ Club on Wind Street, Swansea – just 5 minutes walk from both the bus and train stations and right at the heart of the city’s nightlife. It’s a great opportunity to get together socially for a chat, relax with a few drinks and enjoy some live music from D-Fibs.

It’s planned for the night before our crucial European match against Northampton Saints RFC so we extend a warm welcome to all Ospreys supporters, friends and families as well as Northampton Saints travelling support!

Entertainment:

We’ll have live music from the brilliant D-Fibs – a local rock covers band who “play everything from rock’n roll to things that’ll make your ears bleed and your granny cry”.

The band have plenty of sporting connections featuring a Welsh athletics record holder, a former Neath, Swansea and Wales Students Rugby International and less importantly an OSC committee member.

SWWR Ltd OSCA Winner December 2014 – Alun Wyn Jones

The results are in:
3rd James King 13% vote
2nd Justin Tupiric 22% vote
and the OSC POM sponsored by SWWR Ltd is the best captain any team could hope to have –
Alun Wyn Jones with 31% of the vote

This has been the most closely contested vote in a long time and there have been some fantastic performances all around the park this month – we are sure we all agreed it is truly deserved.

Fly your flag at Parc y Scarlets!

Once again, we are asking supporters who are travelling to Parc Y Scarlets tomorrow to bring along flags to wave to show the boys our support.

The ‘Fly Your Flag’ campaign worked really well in Northampton and we made a visual impact especially behind the posts.

So come on Ospreylians, let’s show our colours in Llanelli and back the boys in black.

SWWR Ltd November Player of the Month Presentation & Charity Raffle

After victory over the Scarlets and a quick shower, Dan Evans came over to the Riverside Bar and was presented with his OSCA for winning the OSC player of the month award for November.

The award is sponsored by South Wales Wood Recycling Ltd.

We would like to thank all of our Supporters and Scarlet supporters who bought charity raffle tickets yesterday.

In total the raffle raised £595 and all proceeds will split between the Welsh Wheelchair and Welsh Deaf rugby teams.

Thank you to all who supported the raffle!

Well first we hope to present Dan Evans with his OSC player of the month award sponsored by South Wales Wood Recycling Ltd

Charity Raffle – big prizes!

What else you ask, well once a year we like to hold a raffle where all proceeds go to a notable cause linked to rugby. This year we have taken the decision to hold this on the 27th where we can be assured of a big crowd.

This year all proceeds from the raffle will go to two worthy recipients who have both visited the Riverside this season; The Welsh Wheelchair and Welsh Deaf rugby teams. We are sure you agree both deserved of our support.

As this is a charity raffle we will have some great prizes including:

signed shirt xmas • Signed Ospreys jersey framed by House of Frames

• A total of £40 of vouchers from Frankie & Bennys (T’s & C’s apply)

• £20 money off voucher from Pizzeria Vesuvio

• Box of cupcakes from Candyfloss Cakes in Pontarddulais

Tickets will be on sale pre and post-match in The Riverside and also for those supporters in the 2003 Club see your OSC rep there who will be only too happy to sell you a raffle ticket.

We know how generous the Osprey Supporters are and will once again buy lots of tickets to help support these two teams
